Nashville Wedding Photographer | Rock Quarry Styled Shoot

LanternThis might be one of our favorite shoots ever. No joke. Samantha Coyle with The Block Agency was such an awesome choice for this shoot! It was refreshing to be able to let her express herself in front of my camera and for the first time ever, give only small direction.

So about the shoot…

I’ve been itching to shoot some sort of bridal photos here lately but knew right from the beginning I wanted them to be different. I wanted to bring a different idea or concept and just break the rules. Anyone who knows me knows I break the rules…a lot. Promise I have a clean record, however!

As much as Allison and I are suckers for beautiful florals, we opted to not go that route this time around. Seeing  as how we were shooting in a rock quarry we have decided quartz crystal is the new floral. Just kidding. What was interesting and coincidental enough was the fact that the crystal cluster we borrowed from Art and Invention was that it was dug just a few miles from my childhood home from one of the same crystal yards my father used to take me to when I was young. My father had a bit of a fascination with crystals and it was extremely awesome to pay homage to him.

Lastly, I want to take a moment to give a shoutout to The Dress Theory and Sarah Seven for this incredible dress. Seriously ladies, check them out! We are a tad bit obsessed with their selection at the moment. We also want to thank Graystone Quarry, a new wedding venue opening soon in Franklin, Tennessee for letting us use their beautiful property!

For photographers: We switched to Canon! We know some of you photography gurus might notice a slight change in the tonality of our work and that’s all intentional. We are making steps at developing more of a style that is cohesive with what is below and are beyond excited about it! These were all shot with two Canon 5DMKIIIs and a 6D with 35Lii, 50L, 85Lii .

We are going to start making it a point to share more tips, tricks, and inspiration behind our shoots so if you don’t get tired of reading the novels above, check it out!

Great tones! And the concept is gorgeous, maybe even encouraging the modern bride to break out of tradition and go for some beautiful bridals like these. Great work in bridal and wedding photography.

Nashville, Tennessee | Traveler’s Rest Wedding | Adrienne & Sean
Dang,  we are  pretty excited to share this wedding. We first met Adrienne and Sean back in winter at Starbucks of all places. Except, there were no seats left at Starbucks. So we went next door to the Fedex copy and print store and used computer chairs to form a makeshift meeting space. After meeting these two, there was no doubt we wanted to shoot their wedding.  Anyone who spoke about Adrienne and Sean at their wedding first spoke of their kindness and sincerity. From the outside looking in, we can' ...

Chelsea & Jeremiah | Chattanooga Wedding Photographer
Chattanooga Wedding Photographer.  When we originally met Chelsea, she was planning her wedding for early spring of this year. As fate so had it, we received a text from Chelsea saying that the wedding was having to be moved to December 27th, 2016 due to scheduling with the military. Which was just a few weeks away. Obviously, we were available and were so excited how the change of plans worked out. Even down to the day of the wedding, the locations for a good bulk of these photos was completely changed. It basically rained the entire morning. Instead of going out to the original venue that was filled with beautiful areas to shoot around, ...

Tracie & Jerid | Diablo Lake Engagement Session
Boom. Our first Diablo Lake Engagement Session. I've been pretty much drooling over this place ever since seeing it in photos. I am so stoked that Tracie and Jerid were down for the adventure and North Cascade National Park for their session! Tracie and Jerid are easily some of the most laid back people I've ever met and we are so excited to shoot their wedding next year! It's always super rad to have that affirmation that you have booked the perfect couple as well. That affirmation came when we grabbed some chipotle after their session. That said it all. Here are some of our favorite photos from their session!     ...
